MEET DR. stephanie whitehead
Dr. Stephanie Whitehead grew up in Hoover, Alabama where she was a cheerleader at Berry High School. She first learned about braces as a teenager while working as an assistant for her own Orthodontist, Dr. John Jayne, and witnessing the joy expressed by transformed smiles and changed lives. After helping fix crooked teeth, she fell in love with giving people a reason to grin. In 1988, She became the first woman orthodontist in Alabama and has been serving Birmingham, Pelham, and Hoover ever since.
Her greatest joy is her family. Married for 27 years to her husband Mike, they have four children and one grandson; Micah, married to Jana, Bethany, married to Jeff, Jonathon, married to Taylor, Jacob, married to Laura, and Silas their 1 year old grandson. God has truly blessed her family. She has dedicated this practice to glorify Him as she serves others.
Dr. Whitehead attended the University of Alabama, where she graduated with honors and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa. She obtained a doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. Dr Whitehead completed her Masters of Science degree in orthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
She maintains professional memberships with the American Association of Orthodontists AAO, Southern Association of Orthodontists SAO, Alabama Dental Association ADA and the Birmingham District Dental Society.
